Minecraft 1.3

As many of you will already know, we recently upgraded to Minecraft 1.3. This move however has not turned out very well, in fact it has resulted in a very bad run for the server.

Because of all the bugs and lag that has resulted from the instability from this upgrade, we have seen many new players leave almost instantly. I am very sorry to see this, as our service is usually optimal and very stable. There is however nothing I can do about these problems that we are currently facing, until they are fixed by the Bukkit team!

I am currently shifting the player count up and down, to get a feeling of where we can support x number of players - however, this is not turning out very good results.

Now the important part
So you probably wondering when will the game be back to normal. Well I can not tell you, however it should be soon. These problems will not be around for too long, they will mostly be over the next week, at most (I hope) two weeks. However in the end, everything should and will return to normal.

In addition, we have a full system upgrade scheduled for the last weekend of this month. We will be purchasing a new high level machine to run the server on, which should help with player counts over 150.

And the best part for last!
To put it blunt, I am very embarrassed about the poor quality of service I am delivering to you guys. I wish there was more I could do, but unfortunately there is not! So as a gesture of good will, I will be leaving on fly mode for all players until the problems have been resolved and we back to normal. I realise this does not benefit ranked users, and I do apologise, but I hope you can understand the situation I am currently in.
